Got a good deal on them and they fit under my pants no problem. I'm just wondering if I wear my 5lbs ankle weights all day to give me that little extra exercie, am I in anyway hurting my knees or any other parts of my body?

    thanks guys!

Be careful not to strain yourself too hard. :mamoru: You should've gotten a weighted vest to wear under your shirt, maybe you'll burn an extra 10 calories throughout th eday.

anyhow for the ones whocare, I've been doing alot or reading just searching google.. it's crazy the mix reviews I'm reading.. I figured since I do alot of walking with work it would give me a chance to give me a little extra exercies vs having non at all.. I work out as well and am deticated.. this isn't the only form of exercie I do.. anyhow.. interested in mature comments on this subject.

i have a pair but i haven't used them in at least 6 years. i used to wear them to track meets during my warmups 1 hour before my races...
i heard that they're bad for your knees/hips, but :dunno:

Go and do some real exercise. Go walk for a couple miles and wear them.

Actually, don't wear them at all. Bad idea. Better to do your cardio and then go lift weights rather than risk injury by wearing ankle/wrist weights. If you REALLY want to do something like that, a weighted vest is the best option.

They're just not a good idea. Adding extra weight to the very end of a limb=increased risk of injury. It's the whole lever thing.

can you see any reason to wear a weighted vest on a elliptical machine?

this old lady always wears one at the gym I work at and it just doesn't make any sense to me, her body's torso is barely moving at all, so I can't see it actually producing any more resistance

plus she brings in her own fan to blow air on her
