and it all works great. and my next step is to get my flash on a stand. But I am not a big fan of the receiver being between the stand and the flash. but the 500EX has not pug for an external trigger other than the hotshoe. so this would mean to take the receiver from the middle would require a hot shoe adapter that is basically a hot shoe up top to connect to the flash and a cold shoe below to connect to the light stand and then a cord that comes off that is either a PC or 2.5mm jack on the other side that will pop into the side of the receiver (Ikow the 2.5m dont fit but I can fix that)

do I make any sense? is there such a thing. Should I just keep the receiver in the middle? I really dont wanna

i've been using mine with the receiver in the middle. i need to pick up a pc->hotshoe adapter like what you described, but i don't want to pay for shipping on that small of an item unless its in a larger order. :o

    Depends on who you're asking.

"Poverty Wizard" sometimes refers to the fact that Pocket Wizards are expensive and will bankrupt you because they're so useful/addictive.

well, in this case he means the cactus triggers, unless there is some crazy new pocket wizard that uses a hotshoe to trigger a flash that i don't know about.

MPEX actually sells another one, that's cheaper($10) but it's back ordered right now. I don't think you should have any shorting issues
