With the new monitor. If I set the screen size too big he display will flicker and the computer will eventually lock up. I haven't set the resolution low yet to see if it will lock up on those settings. I am buying a new video card real soon just want to know if there is a way to set the screen size low and not have pixilated text.

thanks and any other suggestions welcome.

also... turns out my vid. card does hace dvi input. doesn't this mean it should support higher displays.

ohh..and I do have onboard vid. but after the bios screen it doesn't display anything.

the monitor should have a native resolution and refresh rate. Use that.

Found the problem. When you load the CD it says there are only drivers for Vista. Actually there ARE drivers for XP but you can't get them from the cd's menu. You have to go through display properties and update them.

I've already ordered a new video card though. :( Guess I can return it if I want. :hs:
