lol whatever. i was almost tempted to buy the 1.4 but i just dont think i can justify the 3.5x price increase on a lens i have no idea how much im gonna use. but my friend had recently got a d200 and bought the nikon thrify fifty last week let me play with it and i was like oooh ok i need to get one of these

I picked up the canon 50 1.4 and love it. The build quality is much nicer compared to the 1.8. I noticed the bokeh is pretty close to each other from comparison pics, but the extra stop and build quality is what sold me.

I got a the 1.8 this week also. Pretty nice and I too could not bring myself to get the 1.4. Maybe if I end up using this one a lot I'll get one.

I did the same thing. I bought the 1.8 thinking that if I used it a lot I'd spend the extra money on the 1.4. I don't think I've used the 1.8 since I bought my 24-70, so I guess I made the right decision :dunno:

I got mine from Wolf for $79. Probably about the only thing I'd every buy in a 'walk-in' camera store......price was good, plus it was in stock. :wiggle:
