So I figured out why my bench has sucked...

    I've been doing it wrong all this time. As in, for years...

    My grip has apparently been more of a close-grip tricep exercise than a bench press. Duh... I widened my grip tonight at the suggestion of some fellow gym rats, and whoa - what a difference. My numbers will dip a bit, but they should raise fast now that I'm doing it right.

    I feel like a fool, but at least I know now...

    your numbers shouldn't dip if you're finally using your chest instead of your triceps... recruit your lats if you really want your #'s to go up..

    Yeah, I'm thinking it might take a week to get used to it, but this explains a lot...
