So I don't think I can put up 85 10 times on the bench.

Are you a girl? I've never seen a guy that can't bench at least 95 starting off :dunno:

In any case, who says you have to do 85? Or 10 reps? Start with a light weight, learn the form CORRECTLY, and go from there.

I was in the same boat as you. Just stay consistent in the gym and push yourself a little harder each time. And as the others said don't use the machines, stay with the bench

My friends say its in my mind, but i dunno. All the rest of my muscle groups are normal. But I cannot bench, and any major chest exercise. I'm a dude btw.

    Will do thanks.

after 2 months of working out i tried 95 on the bar and was pinned after maybe 4 reps. fuck the machine, just lower the weight, set some goals and keep at it.

Before I could only rep 135lbs. Now I can do 205lbs. Keep at it and you will get Bigger, Faster, Stronger. Make sure you learn proper form though. Don't want to be an idiot like me and injure something. Right now my left left pec is a little messed up from bad form from another exercise.

If you're afraid of the barbell crushing you. Start with db's, light if you have too. But you'll be able to 'drop' them away and not crush yourself.

When I first started I could barely do the bar 10 times... :/ I pushed myself and made my friend spot me and force me to do it till i could absolutely not do it any more. Then the next time I went, I pushed myself harder & harder. Feels good man.

when i joined the gym 3 years ago, i so super small. 6'2" about 155 of nothing. The personal trainer put 10's on each side of the bar, i think i did one rep.

then do the bar on the bench. Stay away from machines and learn how to use your body in movements that are natural.
