It's back up and it's pretty awesome. His post fight interview is up. He's also got a bunch of videos of his training sessions up. He's even hosting an MMA event (Beatdown 4) on his site on July 16th. Hopefully the site won't crash again :mamoru:. I'm really impressed with it.

which makes you wonder why he is doing a lot of it.

I miss the old BJ with no advertising on his shorts or clothes.

my understanding was that he had enough money form his family that he never wouldhave to work. Hell, he's said it before that he doesnt need the money and that he just loves the sport. There is a reason why for a while he never sported any sponsors on his shorts. And I dont think it's cause people didnt want to sponsor BJ.

Its like overnight he turned into a brand. OTM commercials, xyience everything, logos all over all his clothes, pimping out his website, etc...

It just seemed liek a very uncharicteristic change out of nowhere.

My guess is someone told him how much they make fighting and he felt the need to top them.

I think he's going to make hilo a hot bed for mma talent. It looks liek he reinvests a ton of the money he makes into his gym and the surrounding area.

You can never be making too much money. As long as he's giving something back to the sport then he can have all of the logos on his shorts and website that he wants as far as I'm concerned.

He may be putting a lot of that revenue back into his school.

A couple years from now we'll be hearing about everyone training in Hilo instead of Big Bear.

that's what i'm thinking. He loves MMA probably more than anyone, he loves hilo more than anyone, I guess it makes sense that he's gonna need to make a lot more than his trsut fund if he wants to move mma to hilo.

jesus, no one said he shoudlnt, just that its weird that he was so obviously not interested in being a promotional object and now he is like a little marketing machine.

After finally seeing the Penn vs Gomi fight I think he's gonna have his hands full. By round two of that fight they were both pretty tired and the pace had slowed down considerably. Penn looked like he was in the same shape in that fight as he was against Pulver (the fight didn't last long enough to see how much better his conditioning really was). Sherk won't be slowing down. His chin was tested pretty well against Franca so I'm not too worried about BJ knocking him out. If BJ doesn't get an early submission then he'll be in trouble. I predict Sherk by another 5 round decision.

He also gets tired pretty early. Sherk goes balls to the wall for 25 minutes straight. I'm just not sure if BJ can handle that :dunno:
