ok... i tried my normal can opener, but the lip on the ammo can is too thick to even get the can opener on it... whats next? chisel or flathead screwdriver?

I opened up a tin of Hungarian 7.62x54R earlier today. When I bought it they gave me a can opener to go with it. Have you contacted the place that sold it and asked them how to open it?

usually, ammo tins come with a key to peel it open like a can of spam.

but since you dont have one, use a manual can opener, like that in a multi-tool or a P-38.
