Gun store I was always stop in at on my way to the range had like 4 crates of them. For $107 with tax, I walked out with a numbers-matching one in pretty decent shape, and a sling, pouch, cleaning kit, oil can, and breakdown tool and all.

The guy at the store happily cleaned the bore and chamber and vitals out for me quickly (a little bit of gunk in there, but nothing major). I went to the range and shot 10 through it. FANTASTIC shooting gun.. dead on at 50 yards. I'll be doing the thorough cleaning process shortly.

I really would like to find some stripper clips for it though.. they're hard as hell to come by, apparently.

Next couple of purchases will be one of his SKSes, and one of the Yugo Mausers he has in.. then an AK. :naughty:

    Pics tomorrow. :)

I have a couple clips for my M-44 but mostly feed the 7.62 by hand. Gives my shoulder time to rest.
Last place I saw them was J&G sales.

He's supposedly got some 91/30's on order, and they'll be arriving soon. He's calling me as soon as they arrive so I can dig through and handpick before he even puts them out for sale. :noes:

No. There wasn't anyone out there but me and a buddy. This range usually doesn't have very many people at it, since it's out in the middle of nowhere.. it's pretty cool.

I really lucked out with mine. Picked it up from big5, numbers all match, good condition wood (though it gets a little discolored toward the muzzle end), good condition bolt/barrel/chamber, and it shoots great.

I did discover though that it doesnt like the Hungarian Lead core. That stuff wont load from strippers properly (even though the steel core does fine), and I finally discovered what people mean by sticky bolt :o

So I dont think I am going to be shooting much lead core, unless I am at a different range or it is for a competition.

I'm really just wanting some clips to round out the whole package for this M44.

Buddy of mine thinks I'm retarded for liking old guns.. says AKs are pieces of shit. :hsugh:

This is the same guy that picks up AR-15's in the store and goes "OMG this is such a sweet M4."

Anyways.. I love this thing. It even has the hammer/sickle stamped into it. Historic pieces are friggin' awesome.

Welcome to the club. Damn, I didn't realize Gaunt had posted the video of me shooting my M44. The video doesn't do it justice. Stand diagonally from a person shooting the M44, and you will get the full effect.

Does your guy have a website or phone number he can be reached at? I think I'd like to make an order or two.

As cheap as $70... I spent a little more to get one with a nicer stock.

    Fun, cheap rifle to shoot.
