Myself and Slick26 took our course on April 13th. I submitted my application on April 16th. It has now been 8 days. :hs: I just got my holster for my Para Carry 12.

Anyways, the course was easy. We arrived at 1:30 and were done at about 8:00. We had like 4-5 breaks as well. When we sat down we checked in, watched some shooting videos, and at 2:30 they said, "let's meet over at the range". :hsugh:

We drove to the range and they said qualifying was 10 rounds at 15'. Everybody passed. They even said to shoot center mass. One kid (not lying) was wearing a pink hat, pink shirt, jeans, and his shoes were pink and green. His first shot clipped the edge of the target, the next shot missed, he shot two in the chest and then he shot the rest into the head. :hsugh:

I honestly feel like I didn't learn much. We watched some videos and went over a few scenarios. The instructor gave us a DVD and always answered questions with, "this will be on your CD, this will be on your CD!" I guess that's what you get for a $75 carry course. :o

I'm in the same boat.... my online update says "Processing Application". :big grin:

I took a one-on-one class because of huuuge time conflicts and was in a big rush. I paid more, but it was worth it because I probably wouldn't have been able to take a normal class for at least another 6-9 months.

My instructor was awesome. :big grin: Texas law requires a 10 hour class for new applicants... let's just say, I wasn't there for 10 hours.... or even close. :big grin:

My online update said "Active certificate" last time I checked, so maybe it's in the mail. :noes:

My holster won't be here for several more weeks. :sad2:

    Wow.

My other friend took his course. They needed 10 shots at 15', 5 at 20', 10 at 25', 10 at 30', and 15 at 50'. :eek3: They scored out of 250 points possible. Hit the 7-8-9 ring and get 5 points each.

I hope to get mine soon. The deputy that took my application said they are about 2 weeks out. My friend got his in 8 days for a different county. As long as it is within 30 days I'll be happy.

It's because you live in Murderapolis! :) Ramsey and Washington are the fastest I believe. I know Dakota and Hennepin are probably the worst.

Texas CHLs take about 60 days to arrive... or so I'm told.

I'm in Germany right now doing a study abroad which is why I wanted to get the course in so quickly... the wait isn't bothering me at all. :big grin:

Checked the mail. I got it! Yeah!

It was post marked April 24th, which is exactly 7 business days after I turned it in! Our old Sheriff was booted out because he protested the right to carry. to Sheriff Hutton!
