Since i wrecked my car i decided to yet again do a small change.

    Clarion dxz835mp HU
    Diamond Audio M6 fronts
Avionixx 800.2 to power the fronts
Incriminator Audio Lethal Injection 12" sub
Diamond Audio D5 600.1 for sub

should i go with a sealed box or ported?

The only ported box i ever had i did not really like..... i listen to rock and techno, very rare to listen to rap in the car. A little classical and jazz. Doesn't it make more sense to have a sealed box. i DO NOT want to take up a lot of trunk space. I amthinking a nice sized sealed box with a good mix of low end extension and all around versatility. Think that will work out well?

if you want a tighter response, but want more output, you could go for a smaller Ported design and tune low for daily

if you need help designing a box the guys at TeamSSAudio.com forum can help

    The subwoofer says 1-1.75cubic ft.

I could go with a 1.75 ported? Was just going to go for 1-5-1.75 sealed

Well, if you don't need really loud output, a sealed enclosure should work fine. A 1.5cuft sealed enclosure should have great sound quality (the yellow line on the graph). A ported enclosure would extend lower in the car (purple and light blue lines on the graph), but most cars have enough cabin gain to make the sealed enclosure of that size with that woofer work well.

Also, keep in mind that the graph is for freespace performance, in the car, the lower frequencies will be significantly boosted.
