to compliment and/or possibly replace my xd. When I bought the xd, I got a free Springfield xml light - (this one http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=83694392 ) it’s a pretty cool little light. Would it fit on the Glock? The Springfield uses a Picatinny rail, the Glock does as well, correct? I can’t seem to confirm this right now..I’m probably tarded.

Also, how many of you guys use the compensated Glocks (17C, 19C, 21C etc) or compensated pistols in general??

Also, when buying new they come with 2 magazines, correct?

Somehow I don't think it would act very complimentary toward the Glock. Complementary, perhaps.. :o

XML light will fit, but it's going to sit farther up toward the end of the rail than a TLR-1/M3/X200.. etc. Your finger might not be able to reach it as comfortably.

edit: if you sell it, I could be interested. the XML does fit on a subcompact Steyr :big grin:

I think the light will fit, but it will be a long reach with your finger.

I don't have any use for comp barrels. Cool for race guns, suck for most everything esle

    Yes two mags

cool, cool...they don't seem to be too popular 'round WMD..

how about this...is there any marked disadvantage to the C models? cleaning? some ... reliability issue or something??

    I reckon if/when I do this I'll go with a regular 19

Well, I shoot IDPA and they are not legal, and the flash from the comp will screw up your night vision.

But if it's gonna be a comp gun, and they are allowed in your class, then get one.

The comp vents out the top of the barrel in a v-shaped flash that could be distracting when firing in low light conditions. There is also the issue of the shooter getting hit by the blast if he is forced to fire the pistol from an awkward position in a SD situtation. Unlikely, but something to consider.

I wouldn't expect any difference in reliability between them.

I hear that there's no visible flash from the compensator under most conditions. The effect on muzzle velocity is supposed to be almost insignificant.

But I've never fired one or seen one being fired, so ... :dunno:

there's barely any recoil with the 9mm anyway. i don't see any reason to get a compensated G19. :dunno:

G19C is pretty much pointless IMO

I've fired one - the upwards blast screwed up my sight picture. IMO a G19 doesn't have enough recoil to make sense to me.

Hm. Going to move the Glock C models from the "things I'm not interested in buying" catgeory to the "things I likely won't be buying" category.

I own a 19c (and shoot it often/carry it) and have never had any issues with sight picture in daylight or dim/dark conditions. Honestly the flash is not substantially more noticable than that of my 17-standard.

As far as the "but you could burn yourself in a SD situation...possibly" argument goes my stance is that you may possibly, maybe, in some small way if the odds are against you get small powder burn, but your attacker will still likely be dead.

I have a 31C, I shoot it more with a .40 cal barrel then I do with the ported barrel. The added noise and extra mess the ports make isn't really worth it to me. Well, that and .40 is a lot cheaper then .357 sig.
