I called my finance office and they said it takes about a week, and if I didn't have it by then to give them a call :embd:

never understood that, the government offers you a bonus and then takes 30-40% back

I got the first half of mine within 30 days. Second half took a while due a paperwork snafu that was decided in my favor.

:werd: i know a handful of guys that are self-asskicking themselves for not reenlisting downrange when the bonuses were higher (and tax free)

in the army, once you get to your first duty station, you just have to get all the papers together, turn them in and 2 weeks later you get half the bonus, with the other half split up and paid out each year. good luck.

I got 1/2 of my bonus after i completed BCT/AIT, and the rest of my bonus on my 3rd year (6 years enlistment total). Uncle Sam took 33% off of my $5000 bonus. fucker
