FD RX-7: no problem in snow
Supra: no problem in snow - even with summer tires
350Z w/ all seasons: you better be fucking insane driving in the snow

I need to know just how bad these GTO's are in the snow because I spent this shitty winter in the worst winter car of all time: nissan 350z. I want a more compliant ride after renting a Mazda 6 this past weekend and falling in love. It's either this or an M3 and I'm afraid of BMW service prices.

So what made the 350z so bad in the snow? Seems to me it would have been the better of the 3 listed, this coming from someone never driven any of the cars mentioned.

I'm not sure. Lot of it must have been tire. But its just the way there is absolutely zero weight over the rear axle.

old college buddy of mine had an 01' Camaro SS w/ winter tires and had no issues at all.

if he can do it, then so can you. And your Z debate is kinda worthless because most all season tyres are bad at everything imho.

Yes, but they last about 2 seasons and cost $800. Are they really that much better than all-seasons?

I never had snow tires on the GTO, but during big storms the snow was past the bumper and the wheels couldn't move. With my trailbazer ss the snow tires made a world of difference though.
