Anybody else seen it yet? I was really pleased with it, and IIRC it followed the book pretty faithfully.

    Good movie. Would see again.

Having not read any of the books, I would say it was ok. I felt like I needed to have read the books to understand this one.

I've only read the books... book-to-movie adaptations FTL. I hear that the film is just all the key scenes stitched together with a butchered ending and that the actors have no chemistry during the romance scenes. I haven't personalyl seen the movie though and probably won't.

Terry Gilliam wanted to direct the first film I believe... that would have been awesome

i read the books, saw the movie and enjoyed it a lot. i went with a couple friends who haven't read the books, and went through great effort to not be spoiled in any way, which i found amazing. It was cool seeing his reaction to the revalations at the end.

I haven't seen it, but don't have a whole lot of desire to either from what I've heard from other people. They have cut out a lot of key scenes. And I agree with bowrofl about book-to-movie adaptations FTL. They should either make them 4 hours long like LOTR or split them up in to multiple movies.

    **SPOILER**

Watched it tonight. Overall it was good. I don't like how they didn't explain why the horcruxes were chosen. And where the fuck was the battle at hogwarts :ugh:

I know. Until the last 30 minutes, I'd have given the move a solid 8 out of 10. The last 30 minutes, I'd give it a 5.5/10.

i thought it was decent. diverged from the book more than i would like, but then again, that is why it's a movie and not the book. i'm interested to see how the next movie will be split up though.

Most of it was alright; ending sucked balls though.

Does anyone remember any of the trailer movie previews before the movie started?

I liked watching it, and will probably buy it, but the series is definitely losing some of its magic as they digress further and further from the books. I understand that they had to simplify the romance plots because so much of it was non-verbal in the book, but I thought they way underplayed them.

I did not care for the way they took the chronology of events and jumbled them.

Basically, it wasn't as deep as I was hoping for.
