To make a long story short, I lost my gi and no-gi fights. In no-gi I got tapped with a triangle choke, after fighting an armbar attempt. In gi I lost to an armbar after the dude was trying to choke me out with his collar. It was a great test for my heart.

The only person who took home something in the team was our coach, and one guy from Delima/CT Combat. I had so much fun, and it was a real learning experience for all of us. The whole point system in grappling was totally greek to us, and all got use wondering why people cheered when someone went into side control lol.

Thanks to all the guys I've trained with and given me advice, without you guys I wouldn't even have to balls to step on the mats at a NAGA. Thanks to Hillary for giving me great tips on what to do at the event, they worked like a charm and my forearms never went numb on me.

And for the glory of IC....I attempted a flying armbar. It failed. I hit my head hard on the mat and I actually saw stars for a few seconds. But fuck yeah I'm awesome for trying it out.

    Here are some pics:

The crew...apparently I missed the memo on what to wear.

Nope. One of our guys got slammed too when he jumped guard...but no DQ.

:bigthumb: I was supposed to yell, "Sylvaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" but I forgot lol

Yup, I'm going to the gym today. We got offered to be cross trained by even more gyms, which was cool. ATT CT may be coming in soon to help us out improve our ground. One club in rochester wanted us to do striking seminars, while we work ground with them.

Definitely know what to work on and watch out for, especially for competition.

Been training for a year now.

we have a bunch.. one looks like a dude cause she has a buzz cut, but would be cute if she had hair.

there's a red head that i guess some people would dig. she's a total sweet heart

there's another one that most likely cleaned up in her division, but you wouldn't mistake her for cute haha

i wonder if my instructor competed (i've been out of town and very drunk). his knees are completely shot so he can't close his guard or do a lot of other shit. it's so weird watching him roll cause he's adapted so well. :eek3:

Yup, novice was perfect for me. I would have been outclassed in the beginners division. It was also a trip to finally fight guys who were my size, and matched my speed and agility pound for pound. I loved it.

It sucks that I'm going to be fighting in the Masters division after July. I really want a rematch with all the guys I fought because looking back I saw a lot of holes in their game that I could have capitalized on. I had a fighting chance, but the first time jitters in competition got the better of me.

Welcome to the 0-2 club! It's good to get that first tournament out of the way though, win or lose. I plan to do better next month in my second tournament. :coolugh:

Nope, never go to the New England ones. All the refs are from there, they're not gonna fly me in when everyone else can drive for an hour.

speaking of fight soap, i met a good number of fight soap users at NAGA. we had an after party with another team up at our hotel...turns out they were all fight soap users too. then they brought in these drunk psycho bitches from boston who started acting up...and I threatened to rear naked choke one of them if they didn't leave the premises
