So...does NetGear suck?

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by BluePhoenix451, Nov 7, 2004.

  1. I have a Netgear RP614 wired router. But nothing works with it. Today i tried to put my xbox and comp on a switch that was connected to the router.

After 3 hours of unhooking and reconnecting cables, and comming this close to throwing my router out the window, My Computer and xbox still werent connected.

Anyone else have any problems with netgear? If I were to get a new router, is Linksys any good?

I have the 108Mbps netgear router (624, I think???) and it's the BEST router I've ever used (SOHO of course -- not counting the big-boys).

I've also got some Netgear 511T (cardbus) and 311T (PCI) cards and they've all been great. The drivers on the CD suck (bluescreens) but the latest downloads are working great.

I've had nothing but problems with Linksys products -- always need replacing every 6 months or so.

I've used several Netgear products and have had no problems with any of them. Linksys on the other hand...

Been using the Netgear FR314 for years. Can't beleive it is still holding up. :o I think their older products may be better than their new ones, quality wise.
