    Definitely helped. :eek3:

I know they had to boost the signal because it was weak, and then changed out a few of the cables.

Also changed some setting on the box itself. Went from 480i to 720i or something to that effect.

He told me that there are only 2 stations in my area that are broadcasted in TRUE HD. Meaning it's recorded in HD and broadcasted in HD. The other ones (HBO, ESPN, etc...) are recorded in analog and broadcasted through HD, which will help the picture immensly but it's not really HD.

Problem with the 2 stations that are broadcasted in true HD is, they don't come in at all times of the day...only during certain hours. :ugh:

It's only $5 extra a month though, so no big deal.

Anyone know if I can hook up the HD box from Comcast to my stereo so i can use surround sound?

Optical audio out or Digital Coaxial Audio output on the back of the HD box?

There are no more "out" jacks left after hooking the HD up to the TV.

    No luck then? :wtc:

Why the hell would they broadcast it in HD w/5.1 surround and then have no way for you to hook up the surround? :ugh:

There has to be some sort of cable splitting stuff for it.

Just a crappy HD reciever. however - all the Satalite hd recievers I've had my hands on have either Coaxial audio, optical audio or both - because HD can also have 5.1 sound - and red/white RCA's don't cut it.

Do you have any problems with the color? Mine is all fucked up now that they came out and upgraded us to HD. We already got HD with our tuner and it looked great. Now this shit is horrible. Only like 3 colors showing. :ugh:

When the guy was out today looking at it he did something and I lost ALL the red in my picture.

But the color is great on it now, no problems. I'd have a tech come out and fix it if you're having problems with it.

What did they have to do? Because I have no red. Red lipstick seems to turn out blue. :hs:

    I'll definitely call them now.

See the little pull out tabs on the left side? those ate optical audio jacks - you pull out the T-tab looking thing - and plug in a fiber optic optical audio cable from the cable box to the reciever.

or look for a orange or black plug labeled Digital Coax or digitcal coaxial audio or some thing similar - that plug will be round like and RCA plug.

I am jealous, I cannot get HDTV in my apartment. (No Satellite, Or comcast)

I have a better TV and Receiver than most, and way better than my parents. Yet I cannot get 5.1 or HDTV. :wtc:

That's what mine looks like. :) It's a lot better than the slow black one for menu surfing.

That's the box I have. But the back looks like it's set up differently than mine.

This is why HD and other high defination formats will never succeed.

Becuase the more Jabronis that get it, and then proceed to fuck it, completely ruin the scene.

Its for this very reason that Speed TV is mostly fucking NASCAR as well.

    FUCK YOU JOE SIX PACK!!!!

It's got like 4 USB ports, an ethernet hookup, and a Smart Card reader. I have no idea what any of them do.

There are ALOT of installers that do that shit. Most of them pocket the cables, and then sell them on ebay. ITs preaty fucked up.

My motto with the cable company is "if you walk through my door with it, it stays". SOme guy tried to cheat me out of my RCA cables on my last redular cable box, and he was all "Oh, well, we dont actually support this hookup type so you dont get them" I said, "Oh really, how about i call your local supervisor and ask him, i have the number right here"...then he was like *sigh* *rolleyes* "Whatever, here, take them".

    I hate Comcast employees.
Most of them are the old AT&T contractors hired as full time Comcast workers. And they just dont give a fuck like the old AT&T guys used to.
