    they taught us to not have the bar touch your chest on the bench press, instead stopping at 90 degrees or 3" off chest.

    Not a surprise.... Paul Check reccomends floor press over bench press probably for the same reasons.

    Edit: rotator cuff issues possibly?

    Injury prevention, you don't wanna be liable...

    I did bench with a cambered bar last night, you had to grip it like a bitch to keep the bend upright, and fuck that shit makes you go low. I think I prefer DB but my friend had me try it, fucked with my shoulders a lil bit but they were fine right after when I did some presses.

    yeap rotator cuff problems/you dont work your chest anymore/less if you touch your chest w/the bar. You just bring more of your anterior delt into the movement.

    I know a lot of people will use boards to make sure that they dont go too low

    the only reason i see to touch the chest is if you plan on competing in a PL meet. since it's a requirement..

    The chest is more active at the bottom of a benchpress.
