    After doing squats?

My abs hurt, my back hurts, my legs hurt, my lungs hurt, I was light headed, felt like i was going to puke and this lasted like 30 minutes after i wrapped up my workout with squats. i did 2 sets of ass to grass, or as close as i could get, and 2 sets of box before i started shaking. 8 reps per set.

On the plus side my chest dosn't hurt anymore and my bench went up 5 pounds.

Good lord I forgot how painful yet awsome weights can be.

    Im a newb but flat bench = 165 3x8
    Squats = 210 4x8

All the weight I have at the moment. Need to buy more cause im sure I could squat more.

I haven't tried deads yet. Im trying to get my body used to working out one part at a time.

Also is a normal squat bar longer than a bench bar? Cause im useing my bench bar for squats and its a pain in the ass to get comfortable grip.

Is your "bench bar" a normal 7 foot olympic barbell?

    It'll get easier with time.

Make not mistake though... Squats are by far (IMO) the most exhausting life in the gym. They are supposed to wear you down pretty hard.

    yes,

It seems so small when I get under it though. I was wondering if they made longer bars.

well if shit really HURTS then I don't know... but if you mean your muscles were tired/sore/exhausted then yeah that's normal... I don't even notice that part anymore... All I notice is being incredibly out of breath.

I gotta do high rep squats tonight too :noes:

Well competition squat bars are 8 feet long and 55lbs but you usually won't see those outside of a PL meet/dedicated PL gym

I don't understand how people squat so much. When I FIRST started lifting. never touched a weight in my life, my squat and benchpress were the same.

Oh and I hate squats and they make me nervous before I start them because they suck so much.

no you should feel like you just had sex after having your spine compressed by abnormal weight on your neck while you sit and stand with it over and over...

Based on the fact that you've been lifting for two weeks, you probably overdid it. You need to slowly work up to that volume/intensity, not just go full force right out of the gate. This is true whether you are a true beginner or have lifted before but taken an extended break. Not only are you going to feel like shit and probably be sore, you're opening yourself up to injury. Start with bodyweight squats, then single-leg, then weights.

I used to hate leg day until i started taking it seriously.

The soreness will be more worthwhile and the gains will be more rewarding if you push yourself as hard as possible.
