I have a second generation, and I want to upgrade to the new chipset. I have a feeling that the generaiton 4 macbooks address the issue of screen flicker.

    macs pretty much last forever...
you're just paying for the latest and the greatest...

you're still thinking like a windows user where you feel like you need to upgrade something every year...

I bought mine last April 8th. It doesnt flicker, but ive noticed its really light unless tilted a certain way. Maybe i should take it in to the pro's. Applecare is set to go into effect after the 8th of April too.

Yeah i'd just take it to apple and have them fix it. who cares if it only happens at a certain tilt, you payed for it to work all the time. i'd complain

I have a 1st gen CD Macbook that suffered from screen flicker. I've had it repaired twice. The first time they replaced the inverter and the second time (3 months later) they replaced the logic board and I haven't had a problem since. I don't use the Macbook for much now that I've graduated college bc I'm always on my iMac at home...but even with it being a Core Duo it's still rockin - I've up'd the RAM to 2gb and the hard drive from 60gb to 120gb and I'm good to go. (both very easy to do in the MB)
