My name isn't on either of them.
Did any of you AF folks make it?
I made Tech last year... but never got to sow it on, my enlistment was up in Feb and I was to sow on Tech on March first.
Now working for the FAA.
Didn't make Tech either. No biggie as long as I make it before 10.
Reserves? Man a military pension is hard to pass up.
I didn't test, so it wasn't a surprise.
I missed Tech by .20 points. Cutoff was 314.52 and I got a 314.32.
the staff in my class made tech first time around
only been in a little over 6...i was impressed
line # 7215 out of like 7315 though
Nothing funny about the line number since it's based off time in grade. You can completely ace both tests and still have a wicked high number.
When I made Staff they had to base myself, and 3 other people in my unit off birthdates though, because we all had identical time in service, and time in grade, birthdate is considered after both of those. Even still, we all put on the same month.
was active Duty... it was a rough choice. but in order to get in the FAA I had to be under 30. I just turned 29 and I can "buy back" my mil service time to go towards my retirement for the FAA for $2000 a year. $20,000 for 10years is worth it considering the the pay.
oh no i just think its funny because its gonna be like a year till he puts on
he scored pretty well
its not based on time in grade, its on your scoreeee
people think its time in grade cuz the old crustys usually have more total points
and why lol at a line number? Hes putting it on dur
notsomuch. it is based on time in grade.
Determining Promotion Sequence Numbers (PSNs), commonly referred to as line numbers,
was developed from the basic military philosophy of rank, precedence, and command. PSNs
are assigned on the basis of date of rank(DOR), total active federal military service (TAFMS),
and date of birth. Selectees are promoted in monthlyincrements as vacancies occur.
I would have made E6 this year in the Air Force, but decided WO1 was a lot cooler.
Agreed. This is why I am working on my degree, so I can go to OTS and get O1E pay.
I was talking to a bunch of Tech and masters on thursday at a bbq because one of our staffs made tech and they all said that it went on points though if that is whats in writing then I guess Ill take your word but find that pretty stupid...If you score higher then I would assume you would get a better line number
this chick is a 10 year tech and hers is quite high
I totally agree with you, but it sounds like the Masters and Techs you were talking to were either screwing with you or totally wrong.
