Are the limited slip differentials available in M cars only? What the hell, why can't you even get one as an option but you can get iPod hookups and rear heated seats and shit like that? :ugh:

It's the biggest gripe people have with the car. Aftermarket LSDs are in the works, but it sucks ass not to have one available straight from the factory with that kind of car. :sad2:

Very few European performance vehicles come with limited slip differentials anymore.

Porsches carry 55 - 63% of their weight over the drive wheels. BMWs do not.

also most 335 drivers i see on the road seem just to be normal people who dont road race or auto x.

they just want a quick good looking car to go from point a to b.

I don't even want to know how much it would cost to put one in there...much less, violate the warranty and the 4yr/50k free service.

because a regular BMW is just a over priced grocery getter. it doesn't need LSD. Your average asian woman driving it would care more about heated seats than a LSD

my 91 BMW 318is daily driver does not have an LSD
my 90 BMW E30 M3 has an LSD.

NIGHT AND DAY when it comes to putting down power in a corner.

From a sales perspective though, I understand why it is not stock, as 95% of bmw drivers don't buy for its performance. But I agree, it should be an option.

I guess the reality is....it would be a $1500 option, and in a month or two, there will be better after market options for half the price.

They say that it interferes with the complex stability control systems but I believe it's because the traction/stability control systems can limit wheelspin enough that they can justify saving the cost of a proper LSD.
