got a sealed 300 round 5.56 battlepack for $15
cool! wish i could find 300rnds for my toys that cheap.
i dunno. looks like a US battlepack
Excellent, watch out for the brit battlepacks underloaded or something wouldnt cycle my AR half the time.
i can't shoot it out of anything fun though
my 20" A2 rifle has a .223 match chamber, so can't shoot it in that. my 24" RRA has a .223/5.56 Wylde chamber, so that's what i'm limited to.
if the gun isn't fun, ship it to me and i'll treat it right all guns are fun guns in my book.
well, it's built for precision shooting. this isn't the kinda ammo to do precision shooting w/. i'd rather just blast it away.
but it'll still shoot minute of yote won't it
it'll probably shoot 1" groups at 100.
If it's South African, you might have problems. SOME rifles will tolerate it, but the brass is soft. Many rifles rip rims on that stuff. The first time you shoot it, keep a rod with you to punch stuck cases out. If you don't need it the first time, it doesn't mean you won't later on. I just finished up a 300 rd. SA battlepack, and I had exactly ONE FTE due to a ripped case rim, but it happened in the last 90 rounds of the whole pack.
do you happen to know what the headstamp looked like?
for milsurp ammo, it's in surprisingly good condition. most milsurp ammo i've seen are banged up w/ dings, and real dirty. these have no imperfections, and are very shiny. here are some pics. i couldn't get a pic of the headstamp, but it says 96 on one side, and 14 on the other.
Looks like the South African battlepack I have. I paid $30 for mine
damn. oh well. for $15 bucks i can deal with some misfires.
Let me know how it shoots I need to shoot up mine soon I've had it sitting here for 3 or 4 years
i've heard bad things about the older ones. these are '96. maybe i'll get lucky, but if not, it's not a big deal.
i think my next gun is going to be an AR..
with 7.62x39 at the same price as .223, i don't see why you wouldn't pick one up.
Going to buy an AR before you replace your AK? your offically banned from the Kalishnikov Crew
Yeah, that's definitely SA ammo. Who knows, your rifle may eat it nicely, or you may be rodding the bore every other round. Shoot it and see.
good news, i found out my Armalite also has a Wyle chamber, so i can shoot it in the fun gun
Wylde. With a D.
i know. it was a mistype. i have 2 rifles with them thanks. refer to post #6
