quit in 5 years ago, used the patch. just stage 1 though, i used stage 1 way longer than it says to but after a few months when my habits were sorta changing i quit the patch.

don't really think it matters what you use or don't use though, you're either ready to quit or your not, good luck, i don't envy you right now lol

Only thing that's kept me from quitting completely is drinking... but it's been almost 3 weeks of not smoking at work, school, home, dates, etc....

But then I go and smoke 7 cigs in one night on friday haha :o

Cold turkey (well, I used the patch for the 1st day) after 17 straight years of smoking marlboro menthols.
I just told myself that I wasn't a smoker anymore. Period. I removed all the lighters, ashtrays, etc., and didn't go to any bars or anyplace that I would be tempted to smoke. And I kept myself busy morning, noon and night.
The urge will go away. It took a good 6 months before I forgot I was a smoker to begin with.
It has been 1 year and 2 weeks. Now if only I had worked out for that 17 years...

quit cold turkey back in Feb.

course having entered a non-smoking contest to win a car has helped me to overcome any cravings. but after teh first 2 weeks, the cravings dropped right off. now i can go out and hang with my friends when they go for their smokes and I dont' really get a craving

I seem to pick it up every semester during finals but once I'm done I just drop it completely.

I plan to quit this summer, (it coincides with my duty free supply running out)

all i rememeber from last time quitting is to keep busy, if you feel a craving go for a walk or chew some gum.

    stay away from other smokers

in about 3 days the craving dramatically decrease
