    hey guys, i just have a question that maby you can answer..

    first off, i just started lifting weights and all of that stuff, im gonna try and lose some fat so you can see my abs :hs: but im concerned about one thing...

    i smoke, about a pack a day, and i know this will greatly decrease my progress due to the fact that i will be tired running/exercise bike, and cant go for long... but im scared about gaining weight after i quit... my dad smoked 2 packs a day, and he quit, once he did, he gained about 30 pounds and was never really able to get rid of it, which is mainly what i am afraid of happening to me.

    and i know it will happen, because i quit smoking for 4 days, and gained 5 pounds from eating so much stuff

    you don't gain weight from quitting smoking.

    you gain weight from quitting smoking and picking up food every time you get the urge to smoke.

    mind over matter my friend.

    I was just reading that while marijuanna doesn't have any estrogenic effects as once believed, the smoke produced from marijuanna does.

    smoking decreases your urge to eat, i lost 10 pounds when i started smoking (again), at least IMO it does, im not sure what the "studies" say

    The point is that you don't lose weight because you smoke, you lose weight WHEN you smoke because you're eating less. Drink coffee, bone a chick, profit.

    Just go the gym or something whenever you're craving a cig! It'll only be hard for a little while, then cigarettes will repluse you and you'll wonder why you ever smoked.

    I knew i had to get my cardio up big time. I quit smoking last monday and stayed the same weight. It is very much mind over matter.


    You NEED to quit though if you want to start running.
