Smokin' the cheeba and working out.

    A fitness trainer told me that weed is hampering my workouts.

    Is there any truth to this?

    Even though it makes you hungry, it has nothing to do with your metabolism.

    Other then the tar (which i filter out with my wonderful vaporizer) - can this effect my performance?

    it's not making me lazy, and i'm still more then able to go to the gym.

    other then the "weed is bad for you, mmmkay" speech - will it effect my ability to build muscle or cut? I mean, if it's good enough for phelpsy.

    The general concensus is after working out is fine. I wouldn't do it before though.

    aha, i try to not blaze until after my workout, which i do daily and im making progress...if i do it before in the day, it makes me real lazy.

    Not my style broheim. If I went to the gym high I'd take 5 minutes between sets, use half the weight and then become so paranoid about people looking at me I'd just bolt out of the gym.

    I think for most people it's more a safety/coordination thing.

    in college i started my days with a blunt and a protein shake+oats, followed by riding my bicycle to the rec center. then i just have my mp3 player and zone out while i did my routine. went by quick and made me love going to the gym. you are only lazy if that's your personality, and degenerating your health? pshh i highly doubt it

    Pot hasn't really been studied enough to say anything for sure. Some studies have shown lower test levels, some haven't. Probably won't affect much but if you want to be positive that you're not fucking with your results you should cut it back to now and then. I used to smoke a lot, and since I cut back my results have been better. That's just my experience though.

    Only Negative Side Effects = Short Term Memory Loss, Affect of smoke on the lungs (Which you have almost eliminated with a vap)

    Obviously, it's not something "good" for you but I don't think it's going to hinder you. There's no comparison between getting drunk and smoking some bud.

    Why would you want to toke before you lift / cardio?

    I always thought at night or first thing was the best.

    sounds pointless... after a few reps of shit your increased heart rate/ sympathetics would sober you up.

    actually sounds like you never have.. This man is right getting your heartrate up will super you up super fast and usually takes away the burnout.. pointless if you ask me, just blaze after you workout

    I have smoked weed and played sports, worked out, fucked, done all sorts of shit, and never been "sobered up" by the activity. You guys must have some shit product.

    I think it actually benefits me in terms of water/fat retention but like other people said don't get high before you workout.

    I hated smoking and then going to lift. My workouts became sub-par. Some of my buddies seemed to love doing it prior to lifting.

    My favorite is running high. Once you get over the burning sensation in your lungs you can run for miles, and I don't think I ever got bored. We used to do this when we were cutting weight.

    i'll tell you they teach us in med school over and over again that pot results in gyno. but i don't know exactly how true that is.
