I bought my parents an SD700 for christmas and I loved playing with it before having to give it away to them.

Very nice pictures for a point and shoot.

As for Panasonic stuff... I have a Lumix FZ5, and although I love the way it shoots in outdoor settings, anything in low-light pretty much sucks.

    My problem is this...

I have a sony dsc-w1 now and am looking at the lumix fx01 as an upgrade.

I am wondering now if it is worth the upgrade for portability, it is about .6 inches less deep. I am going to study abroad next semester and want something that can take good fun pictures at bars and when I am out....but also can handle some decent pictures of scenery.

I will have to trade my 30GB ipod in to get the new camera.

    Please advise :)

Then get the Canon A710 for $287 @ pricegrabber.
Also they're discounting the Fuji F30 with a $50 rebate. Found it at $209 after rebate somewhere. VERY good deal.
