Its noobville at my gym because of all the college kids goign back to school now and getting gym membershits

so why do I see all these kids swing their bodies over the chin bar to make that 4th rep and dropping only a few inches before thrusting up again with as much momentum as they can get in that short distance?

then they move to the lat pull down machine and stack it there they dont even weigh enough to sit down on their own and then they proceed to rock back and forth to move the bar to the tops of their heads. I think they like the ride back up to the top after the set.

They always come in packs too. Geeky, nerdy, type kids that you'd think were smart enough to read up on how to workout, or go to the university gym where the guy sitting in the corner is getting paid to help you out.

oh and they have no gym etiquette whatsoever. They strip your weights down when you head to the fountain and you come back and say "wtf" and they don't bother to put it back on...

I would not expect this to be geeky nerdy type kids, but more greek, hair styled, wearing shirts to small for them, and have the smallest legs ever type kids.

I have good form on everything, but if I'm doing lat pulldowns I might jerk it on the last rep... I also only weigh 170lbs and I can do the stack for 12-15 reps, so I obviously have a hard time at first getting the bar down to the seat.

I think I might have improper form for the lat pulldown machine, but I don't really know :hs: I'm thinking about switching from front pull down to rear cause I'll probably be less likely to fuck it up :mamoru:

I could never figure out what the difference was between the two... they both work the lat right? I was always more comfortable with front, I just need to make sure I keep my back from leaning back when I pull down to my chest I guess

    You wont believe this but....

I was doing bench and looking around (haha) so i saw this "non muscular" kid with a shell necklace on and he proceeds to put 2- 10 lbs plates on the curl bar...OOPS forgot to put the braces on the end...picks it up and curls so fast the 10 lb plates fall off...I couldnt help but laugh..

Fuck that shit, I'm a puny mofo, been going to the gym for less than 3 weeks and I probably can't squat more than 150lb. I take the time to do everything correctly, if I can't make that last rep I won't compromise my pose and I have some common courtesy. I started taking off the weights from a squat rack I thought wasn't in use and when the guy came back, I apologized and put them back up.

Being a newb has nothing to do with being an ignorant and irrespectful prick.

 i saw one kid do almost the same thing. he was struggling for his last rep and was bringing up his arms unevenly when all the weights on one side just slid off. he looked around to see if anyone was watching and the put them back on. he used collars after that.

I saw a guy benching with a 45 on each side. Last rep one arm fell and the plate slid off that side, the uneven weight rolled him off the other side of the bench. The whole thing made a lot of noise, everyone was
