I've been reading around that teenagers are supposed to get 9-10 hours of sleep a night. I also read that it's always best to go to and get up at the same time every day.

    I'm 16.

Now the thing is, I have to get up at 6:15 in order to get ready for school. Then I have school, sports practice, and homework. Sometimes homework can last till 10 pm or later. Now, if I am supposed to get 9 hours of sleep with waking up at 6:15, I have to go to bed at 9:15 PM. Half the time I won't even be finished all of my homework by then. And that is with only taking a break to eat dinner. I don't know how I'm supposed to fit 9 hours of sleep in a night with this schedule. Is there anything I can do? Yes, I already manage my time well as I use all of my free time during school to do homework and then I get right to homework when I get home from practice.

I'm taking 2 AP's next year and each has atleast 1 hour of homework a night. The rest take about 2.5-3 hours to complete. So I usually end up with 4-5 hours a night of homework. That's after coming home around 5-5:30 from practice, maybe even later. And I get maybe 45 mins of free time during the school day to get some work done. Some days I have none.

It's always been like this for me. I take several honors classes and I have really good grades so I :dunno:

EDIT: Also, about 3/4 of that time is spent on busy work which isn't even important and very easy to do, but it just takes a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnngggggggggg time to do since there is so much. Most teachers count the work too. :sad2:

wow. In university, I didn't even have 4-5 hours of homework a night. That includes 4th year with 5 classes a semester. I probably did 10h a week of reading/studying/assignments.

they say you have 1 hour each of homework a night for AP's but thats bullshit. thats only if you work on papers for an hour every night, which you won't, or shouldn't. what you SHOULD do is put the semester papers off until the last night and write a 20 page paper in one day. anything else is overachieving and will make your biceps shrink.

that's way too much homework. I never did anything like that for high school (or college so far... sometimes it will be ridiculous amount of hw for a few weeks on end but the rest of the time there's none)

damn man, all i can say is stop trying so hard in highschool, that shit really doesn't matter at all.

i did the same thing, and by senior year, i was so burnt out. even taking a quarter off after graduating and going to a community collage and all.

i dunno what your plans are but for most people i would say do well and graduate, have fun and get to know your self. go to community college, then you can start working your ass off and transfer after a year or so. you should be able to get in to most univeristies. then once your in, just get keep working your ass off till you get in your program, them you can take it a little easier after that.

for me highschool was such a joke looking back. all that studing for nothing really.

i learned most of my shit from the streets. just kidding.

Except they usually will have a paper due either every week or every other week. AND a big one at the ending. :sad2:

As far as it being summer, shouldn't I try to keep to my school schedule anyway?

Oh btw, I don't care about my biceps shrinking, I'm a runner. :hsugh: :mamoru2:
