Hey all. I feel like a complete newb with this, but I have never had a dual voice coil sub before. I pulled this thing out of the box and see that there are two inputs.

First, let me tell you what I am hooking together. Then tell me what the best way to wire them is.

I have this sub: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB1240D/Polk-Audio-db1240DVC.html?tp=111 (not where I got it from, or paid for it but you get the point)

    I have this amp: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/prod..._id=6&family_id=19&item_id=91949&locale=en_US

Should I just wire up each coil separately to the amp, or would it be better to do something else. Thanks guys. I can't believe I don't know the answer to this question.

Wire the two coils in parallel with each other (pos to pos/neg to neg) and run them back to the amp giving you a two ohm load at the amp.

That will give you maximum wattage and is within RF's spec on nominal impedance stability (2 ohm)
