Was sitting at a bench and there was basically only one kid skating at the time doing the same thing over and over for the short period of time I was there. So basically 6 different version of the same subject doing the same thing. + 2 different ones.

    Too far away
The angles are too high for what they're doing
The processing looks a bit dark

Hard to get a sense of motion with these images since he's coming at you. At a different angle where you can see more of a path that he's following I think would make the picture flow better.

As they are though I think I like the one with the tighter crop where the guys are sittin on the ledge in the background. Easier to focus on the subject and the dudes in the back give perspective on the height of the ledge.

What do you think about the PP? Too dark?

it still wouldnt have an interesting perspective, and most of teh skate shots need that. Most of teh gaps and shit in sk8 mags arent that HUGE, rather its the perspective that makes everything in this kind of shot.

backgrounds are distracting. could use more separation.
not a fan of the processing. looks dull and flat.

To be completely honest I'm extremely new at this photography stuff and really have only ever practiced composition (more 'for web' and graphic images) so I can't really comment much on PP (I just installed Lightroom like 2 weeks ago =D )

But just my personal opinion on it would be that brighter colors would help to accentuate the action going on. I think the dark is pretty sweet looking for the location, but doesn't do much for the skater.

I dunno, it looked boring so I reduced vibrance and saturation but I guess it made it look even more boring  Fail.

    you cant polish a turd.

to teh OP, go back and try again. :) you will only get better with practice. also go to Flickr, and type in skateboarding in teh search field. lots of good stuff in there from novices like yourself. Try and mimic the images you see, until you are proficient and then experiment till you find your own style. :wavey:

Well, I mean...you CAN polish a turd, pretty sure they did it on Mythbusters or something =D But I completely agree that nothings going to fix the image, but it can certainly help it not look as boring.

I did hardly put any effort on these pics except the pp.

Last time I took pics there:

whats the point of going out to take photographs, if you don't put forth effort. if just for fun dont request C+C, and then say its just for fun, and that you didnt put any effort into it. That kinda negates the constructive part.
