Ok, heres the scoop i want to know if its possible and where to go to learn how to make it:

i have access to a box that can run cron jobs

i know very very little about php,

i want to know if there is a way to make a job that will check out a site - by looking for keywords in the source code, determine if i will do the next step or not.

by the next step. i mean log in (by going to next page and submitting the data i specify, then going to next page and submitting more data.

is this possible, what would i search for in google?

i am very quick to learn the syntax of a language

    thx!

no - i'm looking for a script to watch a site - and the second something goes up for sale, it will send the necessary data to purchase item.

(its a site that sell limited quantities of awesome computer related stuff - sells out in minutes)

look into curl for submission and xml parsing for the receiving of data.
