I have my Sirius radio installed in my Jeep. It is powered by the cig ligher that is always on even if the key is removed from the ignition. What is the best way to hard wire the power supply so that it turns off when i take the key out....or....turns on and off with the factory radio????
Pics, links, etc would be very helpful!!
    thanks.

If the unit takes a 12v input, then you can simply snip the cig. lighter adapter off and use the power wire to hardwire it. The striped side is the postive lead, the other is ground. You would need to connect the positive lead to the accessory wire behind the radio or another ignition switched wires somewhere else.

If the unit says something other than 12v on the power input, then you can't cut off the cig adapter, as it may convert 12v down to 6v or even 5v. In that case you could rig something up by soldering a wire on the positive tip of the cig adapter and another wire around the ground portion of the cig. adapter, and connect them as I mentioned.
