It looks like that I get sick every couple of months because I have a deviated septum, pallups, small nasal passages and enlarged membranes. I already had a ct scan done to verify all of this. I am going to the ear-nose and throat specialist next Tuesday and am 99% sure that he will recommend surgery, where they will basically roto-rooter out my nose and sinus cavities. I've heard alot of positive things about this surgery but I just wanted to get some of ya'lls opinions as well. Has anyone here had this surgery done themselves? I also feel that maybe if I get this done and I get my bodyweight down to 210-215 that I might be able to stop using my cpap machine. Thoughts, opinions, concerns?

Ray, hows it going with our plan? Havent heard from you. And yes we should get your bf down to say 8-10%...not worry about weight since it will be in the 210-220 range at that level.

can't answer your question. but my dad had a cpap machine. then our family doc said to lose weight or he would cut his life really short. So, my dad lost 50 pounds and now doesn't need his cpap anymore. so good luck on getting rid of that thing. my dad hated it.

Man, things are going great. I love the MA classes and I'm down to 236!! I feel 100x better. I will go to the doc in 6 more weeks and get blood work done for you.

My sister had it done and she was on the couch for a almost a week but she is a huge drama queen and enjoys the sympathy so you'll probably be back to normal in 2-4 days.

I'm actually considering having it done too next summer because I have similiar problems.

Sounds good, I never realized I had such a fucked up nose until I went to see a ENT on tuesday. I don't remember what exactly he said but I watched as he snaked a camaer up my nose and evreything he pointed out was "enlarged" or "abnormally large." Which explains why I always had problems breathing when I ran.

It's used to treat sleep apnea. It's a mask that goes over your nose that's attached to this machine that blows air through your nose all night long. It keeps all of your airways open.
