At first i was considering purchasing a ruger p345 which is a sa/da pistol. Now im concidering getting a p95, reason being this will be my first gun and the 9mm is indeed cheaper then the .45acp. I have never shot the p95 before and i have only been able to shoot single action pistols. From my understanding is that the double action trigger has a longer pull then the single action. What are the pros and cons of a single action and a double action trigger?

Single action will give easier trigger control than a long double-action pull.

A DAO or SAO will give you a consistent trigger pull each time.

A DA/SA I personally don't like since the first pull is long and hard and follow up shots have the light trigger pull. I'd rather have it the same everytime. I know Ruger does have some DAO pistols.

I actually prefere DA/SA. I hardly ever use DA, but it's nice to know it's there if I ever need it and the SA is buttery smooth. Second strike is also an issue with some of those DAOs too, isn't it?

2nd strike an issue? Glock's are the only gun I know of that people call DAO that can't do a 2nd strike.

I prefer single action, as thats what i use more. IN fact all the guns i shoot i shoot in SA mode (the DA revolvers, just cock it back manually), and the Sig i always put in SA. I just dont like the long heavy pull.
