If you use a Mac and you have an iPhone, a P&S, a DSLR, etc, you know what a massive PITA it is to deal with OSX constantly wanting you to use iPhoto.

    Problem solved.

I don't know why but I get so annoyed when I plug in my 40d and iPhoto and the eos utility try popping up after I already launched lightroom.

You can just disable iPhoto from doing that? It's pretty simple.

Yeah iphoto even asks you the first time...just tell it no and it won't pop up again.

There's a simple setting in iPhoto to do nothing when a camera/card is attached.

No problems when camera is connected, iPhone is connected, or memory card is inserted.

Instead of hooking up my camera directly to my mac I just hook up the memory card via usb card reader and iphoto never pops up.

Except for some of us that want to use one Lightroom for DSLR images, iPhoto for P&S snaptshots, and nothing at all for iPhone.

Why would you not use the same workflow for snapshots? I run my p&s through aperture, I'm the fastest inside of it for doing crops and minor tweaks.

Because I don't tweak snapshots out of my P&S. I use it for work mostly and it's more important to get the stuff offloaded and sorted then shared quickly. iPhoto is actually pretty good for a no brainer import/sort/export/share workflow.
