I am trying to move my outlook express email to outlook using outlooks
import tool; however I am running into problems. The import goes
seemingly well, though upon closer inspection a large amount (close to
50%) of the emails are not being transferred.

My outlook express contains close to 10 dbx files ranging in size from
100Mb to the full 2 GB. Some of the smaller folders are missing
messages as are some of the larger folders. I noticed that when I do
the import, the actual percentage of completed transfer never reaches
100% on any of the folders. I have gone as far as individually
exporting the folders from outlook express, but that yields the same
    results.

Can anyone recommend me a solution to my problem? I would like to
transfer all mail to outlook as soon as possible.

    Try this,

    Open outlook express,

    select
file, folder, compact all files, then try the export again.

I have compacted the folders indivudally and some more of the email messages were imported, but still not all.

It's not a direct solution to your problem, but unless you NEED to use Outlook, you should try using Thunderbird instead. Its junk mail filter is better and it's not loaded down with a ton of business features that most people will never use.

Thanks for the headsup... I actually am doing the migration for someone at my office. She is remote and wants to start using outlook to help manage her daily operations as everyone else uses it - calanders etc.

I have searched the MS kb's and done a million google searches but I cannot find a solution.
