I need to know how to add information to a text file?
why java? could you use another language? I would guess that from the lack of replies and the fact that Java isn't a widely used language, you'd beable to use a different technology that can write to files.
lowfat, a quick Google search came up with this resource, http://www.particle.kth.se/~lindsey/JavaCourse/Book/Java/Chapter09/fileTextIO.html .
ez4me2c3d, Java is a very popular language with businesses and universities. Also, this forum does not get a large amount of traffic which is probably why his question didn't get addressed until now.
hmm, good point. but i guess i was talking more about people like lowfat, who come to forums to ask for help on how to write to a text file, not universities and businesses that write 2000+ lines of code
who knows maybe he's doing it for school or just wants to learn it? point is people use java, and knowing it never hurts, no matter how much people think it's not a useful language, I belive it's the contrary
thanks and it was for my computer science class.
thats fine i was just asking if he could use a more common language.
seeing how hes using it for school, i understand why.
so you're saying Java has pros? what are they?
I won't take your bait, but I will ask you a question. If Java has no positives, why is it so popular?
last time i looked, Java was a very common language.
why not java? xplatform is my biggest reason why i use it. we have 2 students who do all their java assignments on g4's using netbeans. i can write my programs from linux and my instructor mark it on what ever os.
my school is big into java. they dropped c++ for whatever reason for java. good plan IMO. java is a strong language with a load of libaries.
so why do u not like java?
I really dislike java. It isn't that its extremely difficult. Its just lengthy. When i use to do VB i could get so much more done and in much less time. I didn't need a 2 or more classes, to sort, or to read/edit a file. I can't compare it to other languages because this is all i have learned so far.
