Where can I get the trademark simple beep for my iMac? The sound seems to not be in OSX Panther.
Search. Some of the older operating systems should be available, shareware apps, updates.
simple beep... old school 440Hz for the win
I uploaded all the original Mac sounds to YSI last night, from the Simple Beep to the startup and crash sounds from various legacy Macs...Apple II/e startup sound, anyone?
If you want to use these sounds throughout the OS, I recommend placing these sound files in ~/Library/Sounds; programs like System Preferences, iChat, and Mail.app will pick these up right away and allow you to use them in OS X.
Thank for the upload, I am using a few of those now. However, the simple beep sounds quite different from the one I was referring to. The simple beep I am talking about is the simple beep used in OS9. The beep in the .zip file is too.....I dunno..."thin". Thebeep i'm looking for almost sounds kinda muffled, yet high pitched. Anyone know what I am talking about?
