    Does using tampons during your period increase your chance of getting a yeast infection or anything?
    I looked around online but couldn't find much so I was just wondering if any of the other women experienced this also or if it was just a coincidence?

    No different brand, but it just occured to me that I get a yeast infection almost every month with my period. I don't remember getting them when I used pads. Maybe I should try using a different brand next month.

    " Do Tampons cause Yeast Infections?
    No. Yeast infections are caused by a form of yeast commonly found in the vagina known as Candida. The use of antibiotics, among other things, can be a factor in the development of a yeast infection. It is common that when yeast infections occur, they do so shortly before your period begins. Because of that, women may mistakenly believe that their tampon is the cause of the yeast infection but they are not!"

    Most of the reading I have come across suggest that yeast infections often come with your period.

    "Why do my yeast infections keep coming back?

    Some people are more likely to get yeast infections--for no particular reason. Your doctor may want to check to see if you have a medical problem that is affecting your immune system. However, most people who keep getting yeast infections are healthy.

    Certain things may increase your chance of getting another yeast infection:

    * Having your period
    * Taking antibiotics
    * Taking birth control pills
    * Having sex often"

    guys can get yeast infections too..... and frequently pass them back to their partners. ;)

    03 white ZX3, have your husband checked out as well. Chances are he could be continually passing a yeast infection back to you.

    I agree. Nothing drives me up the wall more than a hygiene commerical. Are there that many people (both males and females) that really do not understand basic hygiene and biology?

    He has been checked for yeast as well as a UTI. Negative on both.

    Ive heard that the scented ones can lead to yeast infections in some girls -- i always get unscented - its inside you anyways why does it matter what it smells like.

    Probably from the situaiton and I am no doctor but I know 03 you are trying many different types of birth control, I'd say the flux in hormones is doing you in. Your body is saying WTF I give up. Are you using scented or unscented? that stuff can irritate the piss out of your vagina if its sensitive. I remember when I would hate to have my period come around because it would never fail I would get a uti or a yeast infection every month, becuase of the bacterial imbalance that I had everytime. But since ive started bc its been a ton better Ive learned how to take care of my self as far as food and stuff goes to regulate that kind of thing. Its all a body game we have to play some people are just more prone to it than others.

    I use kotex as if there wasnt any other brand I live and die by that stuff and always brand as my pads.

    Hmmm.

    Some women are just prone to yeast infections no matter how much yogurt or cranberry juice they eat/drink. It's just one of those things.

    Ive had a yeast infection before from my girl when I was younger... and dumber.

    I thought I got an STD and went to the doc.
    Dick was red and itchy.. looked like I had a rash on my dick.
    Doc was like, "yep... She gave you somelongmedicaltermnamethati forgetomousis."

    I was like I KNEW! That fucken whore.
    How do i cure it? .... waiting hoping its curable.

    then he let me in on the joke that it was just a yeast infection most likly past from her to me. :o
