Silly newb protien question...

    I never really took in much protien when I was lifting on a regular basis, and know that this killed my size.

    I've gone and bought a giant bucket of protien.



    How much should I take in per day, and more importantly when?

    1g per pound of lean body mass is one benchmark for a minimum. I usualy get 2g per pound of lean body mass.

    In the morning, with a meal, empty stomach, after a work out? When do I consume?

    look at your meals, and try to balance the protein consumption so you are getting it evenly throughout the day. Use the powder to supplement your regular sources of proteins, not as a replacement.

    Oh, and drink a shake post workout, with 2 scoops protein and water.

    Reminds me of my friend at work who thinks 3 scoops of protein a day will cause liver and kidney damage because of some random article on the internet he read. Nothing we do will convince him otherwise.

    Unfortunately, due to my job, I can't balance meals, or eat on a regular interval. I'm well aware that this is harming my nutrition, but unfortunately, there's nothing that I can do about it.

    So, by taking protien in, I'm trying to offset my irradic eating habits.

    Sounds like a plan. Just drop some powder in some water bottle(s) before you go to work, then between meals fill it up and give it a shake. Drink up. One straight injection of protein.

    2g is way too much IMO. I've had amazing and consistant results with 1g per pound, I coulndt take in 450g of protein a day :barf:
