What is the harmful effects of using waxes with silicones in them? Ive never heard anything that it does, just that I shouldn't use them. Can anyone explain please?

It depends on the types of silicones. Most waxes have paint safe silicones, but that doesn't mean they are body shop safe. Silicones are the enemy of body shops, so they should strip down your car to remove any trace of wax.

Almost all waxes have silicones or oils in them, especially carnubas, because 100% carnuba would be rock hard.
