wait.. like, sign the actual print? Like an autograph?

Or does he mean at the bottom corner in the matte, like photographers do sometimes for ltd ed. prints? For those, I actually like the look of pencil/

noooo! Not a sharpie... They're not archival...

Pencil is a great choice. I use that on all of my matte prints.

I use the Pigma Micron's. They come in all sorts of colors, and are 100% archival.

yeah, pencil is nice. It gives a nice indentation and shimmer to the signature, but doesn't scream for attention.

on the matte. or, print the photo with a "matte" and sign the outside. if you find space to sign a photo ON a print without ruining it, you probably didn't compose it correctly.

    what do you mean 'archival'?

also, you talking about writing on the picture itself or on the back of the sheet?

If you use glass with a UV filter coating, you don't need to worry about the pen/pencil being archival, but you won't be able to see all the detail in the print.
