Going to a grappling orientation at a local Lloyd Irvin affiliated school to see if it’s something I’d be interested in. Pretty excited. Figure I’ll work on flexing my tapping arm this week. :hsd:

    :h5:

I'm mostly looking at it as something dynamic and fun to add to my lifting and running routine while i get in shape for an LE career next year.

Negative, and ya, not really looking forward to that part but my wife is taking the class with me so perhaps i'll roll with her. :naughty:

She's going to make it like 3 classes and quit. Seriously.

Takes a different kind of woman to enjoy this sport.

It takes a different kind of women to put up with me.

But ya, we'll see. My enjoyment isnt hinged on her participation so if she doesnt like it, its not a big deal. They do offer an all women's class though so if shes not keen on grappling the dudes she could go that route instead.

Ya, i dont know anything about martial arts but i liked that they had members winning various meets and they seem to have an established progression structure (have to take so many of Class A before B, then so many of B before C, D, etc.).

My wife used to kickbox (Muay Thai and Savate) with me, puts up with A LOT of other hobbies that waste my time, but she lasted 2 BJJ classes. Very unlikely she will stick with it.

She was also interested in the MT class they offer. Though they do have a womens only BJJ class on saturday if the rolling with dudes thing wasnt her cup of tea. Though its not that big a deal, she'll either like or not. :dunno:
