what are your thoughts on the Sigma 70-200 2.8? Price seems right but how does it match up compared to the canon 70-200 2.8L? it's like $500 more here for the Canon and the IS version is 800 more. I want the 2.8IS but I can't seem to justify 2K on a lens

tried the tamron version out at a store, it had issues focusing inside the store probably due to low light. :o

The tammy is soooo much sharper though, I would only consider the sigma for outdoor sports or something requiring faster AF. 2.8 is too slow for indoors work anyway at those focal lengths without IS/VR, unless you're using something like a D3 with crazy high iso performance.
