I finally got a chance to try my 10-20 on my 1d, and i must say its quite exquisite. without hood, it doesnt really vignette unles its at 10mm. it works really well at 11mm up until f9-f18 where you see slight vignette, but very very little, i would say 2% into the corners. Perfectly usable. I thought i was going to sell this lens and getteh 12-24 mainly sue to its FF compatibility, but this works great...

    Here are the pics.

    11mm at f4.5

all of which can easily be eliminated in post.
11mm @ f9 PP'd out the Vignette, really easily too, LENS correction 100% and done. (still a little there but def not a problem)

The only reason you started this thread is to show off your gun.

    kel-tec ftl! lozl j/k

nice pictures, i've been seriously debating on picking up a wide angle for my wife, and i've heard good things about the sigma 10-20. Is there any other lens out there that is comparable in picture quality but for less? or is the sigma pretty much the "cheapest" it gets?

*edit* sigma 10-22mm f/4-5.6 is what i was lookng at.

the sigma 10-20 is the beezneez, ive had 2 of the sigma and 2 of the Canon USM. Both my Canons were soft on teh left side, both my siggys have been sharp as fuck.

and btw my PF9 is the shit, i carry it everyday with any kind of clothes. Pocket carry ftw!!!!

I also have a Taurus PT1911 (cheapest most dependable 1911 i have ever shot), Kimber Warrior, Steyr M9, DPMS AR15, and Savage Win .308 rifle

I love my guns, reason i live in Vegas vs California

is there much of a difference between the sigma 10-22 vs the canon model other then brand name and price?

Its either the sigma 10-20 or the Canon 10-22. I would look up some reviews on them, everyone has their own opinions. Lens distortion and sharpness are also different most likely

sigma 10-20 is better at handling distortion, canon is supposed to be sharper, havent noticed that at all having owned both.

both are prone to flare, i think its the nature of a UWA. Canon has a slight edge on contrast, and i do mean slight. not worth the 200 plus price difference. Also teh build is soooo much better on teh siggy. the canon feels like a plastic toy

I've used it quite often and its sharp, the only issue i've had is that sometimes it front/back focuses.
