MMA Sigh, time to find another gym.

    You yanks have it easy, honestly. I had a mad black belt instructor but because no one was coming ( and he has other commitments ) I'm going to have to look for another gym :wtc:

    on the plus side I'm well and truely fucked from tonight :hsd:

    yeah australia isnt exactly a hotspot for this kinda training.. worst case scenario .. you could pick up some boxing or muay thai. you should be able to find something in that category

    why do you mention Muay Thai as a "worst case scenario"?:dunno: Im about to join a MT school...should I not? Maybe an overall "MMA" course will be better:dunno:

    if he wants to grapple or do mma then that would be a worst case scenario. thats all im saying. muay thai is great

    Well I want to do MMA/self defense (law enforcement) Will just a general MMA school or BJJ school suit me better?

    Well yeah, I've done BJJ for a year or so and would like to stick to that in the mean time, shit, could only ever train twice a week, at least this new place is three times a week.

    I just dunno what their prices are like.

    I think a BJJ school might suit you better because you dont wanna blast flying knees into a persons face as a police officer. that doesnt look too good on your record. BJJ is good because you are used to controlling and restraining big tough dudes. thats just my opinion though.

    most of the self-defense techniques they teach you in the police academy are Aikido and BJJ

    Well I finally got my arse there :o

    It was good, a lot more active gym. Plus the fees are the same and I get to do MMA if I want to (I'm not sure I like the idea of getting hit a lot, even if they are soft). But maybe I'll try.
