sigh, doubled my cardio this week, gained 9 pounds :wtf:

    How is that even possible? I changed my workout scheudal from a 3 day split to a 4 day split this week, so 25% more time in the gym, and doubled my cardio (probably more than double) and my diet is roughly the same... and I'm at 203 lbs tonight and it's been a steady rise all week :mad:

    Actually no, I started taking flax seed and wheat germ and psyllium husk with some fat free yogurt for fiber and it makes you "regular" because it's good to clean your intestines out from time to time [​IMG]

    You may possibly be retaining water from an inflammatory response to such a sudden increase in cardio :dunno: you certainly didn't gain 9 pounds of fat in a week. Are you drinking enough?

    I wouldn't recommend flax seed/wheat germ for fiber intake- they're both pretty high calorie. Especially the flax seed. Psyllium husk alone is just fine.

    I'm drinking a ton of water, probably 2 gallons a day.

    Oh, and the psyllium husk, flax seed and wheat germ is just something I'm doing this week to clear my system, I seriously never crapped so much in my life. I'm also going to sit in the sauna twice this week to sweat for a while, I havnet been in a sauna in 3+ years. It's part of a cleansing week for my body :cool:

    thats your problem...weigh yourself in the morning. i was up 9lbs after eating easter dinner that night but the next morning i was only up a pound

    I work all night, and sleep in the day, so night is my morning. That and every day this week I noticed I went up a pound or two. My scale is by my shower I hop on it daily.

    it's pretty clean. Lots of health food and tuna and chicken breast, been that way for a while, about 2500 cals a day I would think my average is.

    One of the basic rules of weighing yourself is: do it at the same time every day. Like somebody mentioned, there can be a lot of fluctuation between morning/evening. Just pick one and stick to it for tracking purposes.
