i'm thinking about purchasing a Sig, either a p220 or a p228. Could someone explains the difference with the DAK triggers and what it mean if it is a p228r. also, anyone have and problems or complaints with it

r denotes its a model with an accessory rail

dak triggers are a preloaded trigger pull where every pull feels the same and the trigger pull weight is somewhere between double and single action pulls. the standard model is da/sa.

:werd: but with DAK, you have to let the trigger reset 100% to get the same pull. if you don't, it'll be heavier...if that makes sense

    IMHO stay away from DAK

I haven't heard anything good about DAK.. which is probably a good reason their new P250 has a completely new trigger system... plus I want to say somebody stated that you can't do a trigger job on a DAK.

    I'd getthe Sig P220 Carry

but with all the QC problems with Sig lately I'd be trying to find a good CPO one or just get an HK or M&P ( I was between the Sig P220 Carry, Beretta PX-4 and M&P.. got the M&P)

P228R were never imported to the US, they're Euro only. If you know where to get one, jump on it, if for no other reason than to go to Sigforum and sell it for like a trillion dollars.

I have a 226 and 228 that rival my Glocks reliability and make even crappy shooters look good.

there is no such thing as a p228r. It doesn't exsist. And if someone tries to sell you one, they took the frame of a P229r and swapped slides. That said. the P228 is the best shooting 9mm compact handgun i've ever shot. The balance is amazing.

God I hope that's a chop, that looks heinous.

    I want a 220SAS 220R, or a 220 Carry.. I'd be happy with any of them.
